Kauai

Kauai is probably my favorite of the Hawaiian Islands.  It is know as The Garden Isle and is covered in lush greenery.  Kauai is definitely more quiet and less touristy than the other islands, which is perfect when looking for some real R&R.  Our hotel was the perfect place to do just that.  Plenty of places to relax poolside or by the ocean, great restaurants and the hotel was beautiful.

 LOL.
On thing you will see a lot of in Kauai is lots of chickens.  Hurricane Iniki in 1992 displaced a number of chicken farms.  So now there are wild chickens pretty much everywhere.  They were harmless and would walk away from humans. But yes at 6am a rooster will give you a wake up call:)

Traditions

Every time we're in Oahu the Mr. and I go to Ward Center for dinner and movies. It's near Waikiki but far enough that its not overcrowded by tourists, so its mostly locals.  We go to Dave & Busters (funny enough I had never been before) we get the Honey Mustard Chicken and Spicy Salmon and split it.  Then we hit the movies to see a movie or two.  We used to do big movie days where we would spend the whole day at the theater and see 3 or 4 movies, but as life gets busy we don't do it as often as we used to.  This was our 3rd trip to Oahu this year and we have managed to come here each trip.  So I now look forward to going to Hawaii to go to the movies out of all things!

Sunset

I saw some beautiful sunsets in Hawaii, so I thought I would share them:)

Diamond Head

Every time I visit the island of Oahu I make it a point to climb Diamond Head.  It's an easy climb and at the top you get amazing views of the island.  On one side it gorgeous blue water as far as you can see, and the other is looking back on downtown Waikiki and the rest of the island.

Waikiki Aquarium

I enjoyed going to the Honolulu Zoo so much, I decided to go to the Waikiki Aquarium.  What's great about Waikiki is that pretty much everything is in walking distance, so my "commute" was literally walking along the beach.

Moonrise

In Hawaii I had the joy of seeing a moonrise,  they are actually common in Hawaii.  See all the surfers in the water ready for a day of surfing, that's dedication! It was like 5am.
